By purchasing your unfinished cabinets online you are bound save more money than purchasing them form your local home store.  This is not always the case, and in some cases home stores have major sales on dscounted and used units if you look hard enough.  The downside to purchasing online is that you truly can't judge the quality, styling and dimensions compared to seeing your cabinets in person.
